Many professionals do not realize that most medical marijuana users consider themselves to be part of a sub-culture. Counselors can affirm their commitment to providing socially conscious, inclusive, and just services to this marginalized population. We intend to help attendees build counseling and supervision skills and identify opportunities for utilizing these skills in practice settings, specifically when working with clients who use marijuana for medicinal purposes.
